A Special Anniversary Card!

Hi, everybody! Suzanne here, and today I have a special card to share with you! My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary two weeks ago, so I wanted to make him a special card. 

One of our first vacations was a week-long trip to New Orleans. He would walk down to the Cafe' du Monde every morning and bring back beignets and coffee for breakfast. 

So, I put together this scene for the card front with two of the pups (and the speech bubble) from the limited edition "Happy Howlidays" Lawn Fawn Stamptember set. 

The beignets are actually rocks from Lawn Fawn's "Critters from the Past" stamp set. I stamped them in brown ink on kraft cardstock and used a white gel pen to make them look like they have powdered sugar on top.

Here's a close up of the card front:

The bows are from the "Critters at the Dog Park" set, and the plate is from the "Milk and Cookies" set. I made the floor with a strip of wood paper tape. The sentiment is from the "Sophie's Sentiments" set and I stamped it on paper from the "Let's Polka Mon Amie" petite paper pack.

Make Your Own Planner Stickers!

Hi! Suzanne here with some inspiration to add Lawn Fawn stamps to your planner pages! I made some mini circle stickers with some of the smaller images in several of my Lawn Fawn sets. Here's a look at the stickers on a page in my planner:

I stamped a bunch of smaller images on some label paper the first time around. It didn't work as well as I had hoped because once I punched the final versions from the paper, it was very hard to remove the backing so they would stick to the planner pages. The images on this sheet are from "Critters at the Dog Park", "Party Animal" and "Love You A Latte".

I recommend using some light weight card stock instead of the sticker paper (unless you have some sticky paper with easy-to-remove backing) and run the punched pieces through a sticker maker. 

I also stamped some of the faces from the "Sweet Smiles" stamp set to make emoji-type stickers. Unfortunately, I don't have Lawn Fawn's planner sets yet, so I used the sets I already have. (The planner sets would be perfect for this project, though, and I hope to make more stickers when I get those sets!)

I made my own circle template so I could pick images that would fit in a 1/2" sized circle punch. It also came in handy when I colored the images. The template is just a strip of kraft cardstock with a circle punched in one end.

Mini Notebooks

Hello! Suzanne here with a tutorial on making mini notebooks with your Lawn Fawn stamps and designer papers! These are a great size to tuck into a school binder, pocket, purse, or planner:

Here's a look at the supplies you'll need. I cut the sheets of paper for the covers measuring 3.25 inches wide by 5.5 inches high. (Most of the paper I have on hand is 6" x 6", so I used two smaller sheets instead of a larger single sheet.) The notebook pages are cut to 7 inches wide by 5.5 inches high.

I used three strips of solid washi tape for the binding to secure the cover pages together. The first strip attached the two pieces, and the second and third pieces overlapped the first. I trimmed the extra tape so that it was even with the edges. I left a 0.25 inch space between the two pieces before adding the tape.

As you'll see in the pictures below, I placed an eraser under the spine/binding and opened the stapler when I used it. The staple prongs stay open. To save my fingers and nails when I closed them, I used a brad setter tool to do the work. Unless you have a large desk stapler, using a small stapler while it's open will allow you to place the stapler exactly where you need it.

This is what the notebooks look like after they are assembled and before they are decorated. 

Here's a look at the finished, decorated notebooks. I didn't add any dimensional embellishments because the notebooks are designed to slip into a pocket or purse, and it would be easy for dimensional decorations to pop off with repeated use.

Here's the Scoop!

Hi, everybody! It's Suzanne, and today I'm sharing this little covered notepad that I made to keep next to my computer. 

I have so many different passwords to remember now that back I'm in school, and I find it hard to remember log in information for websites I don't often visit.

I decorated the front of the notepad cover with the Here's The Scoop and Treat Yourself clear stamp sets and a sheet from the Perfectly Plaid petite paper pack that matched the card stock I used to make the cover.

When the notepad cover is folded, it measures about 3.25 inches by 3.25 inches. I cut about 30 index cards down and hot glued them together to make the notepad. 

You can definitely make a larger notepad or use a larger pre-made notepad; just change the dimensions of the cover to fit your project. The full open size of this cover is 3.25 inches by about 7 inches.

I made an office envelope closure with two brads and some twine, but you can also use magnets or maybe temporary adhesive to keep the notepad closed. I also found that by folding the cover back, it creates an easel to make it easier to read what's on the notepad when it's on the table next to my laptop.

A pair of love-ly cards!

Hi, everybody! Suzanne here, and I was inspired by the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday on Sunday to make these two love-themed cards!

My first card features a scene that I put together with Lawn Fawn's retired "Good Fortune" stamp set. I used paper from the "Let's Polka in the Dark" petite paper pad to make a simple background for my card front.

My second card features a 3-D accent that I made with the "Sweet Smiles" stamp set. I used permanent solvent ink to stamp on a transparent sheet and layered some mini hearts that I punched from a few scraps of Lawn Fawn paper. 

I used foam tape between the layers to give the bubble gum machine some dimension. It's not a shaker element because all of the hearts are adhered to either the transparent sheet or the bottom layer.

Warm Winter Critters

Hi, everybody! Suzanne here, and I'm sharing a new card inspired by the current "Winter Wonderland" challenge! With a little bit of masking and a few extra lines, I dressed up the critters from Lawn Fawn's "Party Animal" and "Holiday Party Animal" sets in some festive sweaters:

I mainly masked off the bellies of the fox and the raccoon. The bear didn't have any belly lines, so I just drew some cuffs, a collar and the sweater bottom. I picked different mini icons from my other Lawn Fawn sets and stamped them so that each sweater would have a different design.

I made the background with Let's Bokeh in the Snow and cut some glitter paper from my stash with the Stitched Hillside Borders Lawn Cuts to create some sparkly snow.

A Tag and Gift Envelope Combo!

Hi, everybody! Suzanne here with you today to share a tag and a gift envelope that I made with Lawn Fawn's Goodie Bag die! With so much going on at this time of year, I love discovering and sharing ideas that make everything that's on my to-do list a little easier! 

This gift envelope was inspired by a tutorial that I did earlier this year. I used the pieces cut with the Goodie Bag Lawn Cuts die and rearranged them to make an envelope that's the perfect size for a gift card. You can check out the full tutorial HERE.

I chose paper from the Let's Bokeh in the Snow petite paper pack to make the envelope and stamps from the Toboggan Together set to decorate the front.

I used the Gingham Backdrops set to make a glittery background for my tag:

I chose the sweet little skunk from the special limited stamp set offered by Lawn Fawn to Black Friday shoppers and dressed him up with the hat and present in the Baaah Humbug set. Instead of "naughty or nice", I mixed a few of my Lawn Fawn sets to make a "skunky" sentiment.

Fall Paper Clip Bookmarks

Hi, everybody! Suzanne here with a fun project that you can use to jazz up your planner or to use as a bookmark. I used a few of the stamps from Lawn Fawn's Into the Woods and Happy Harvest sets to make some fall-themed paper clip bookmarks.

I stamped two of each image on heavyweight (110 lb.) white card stock. After coloring one of the images, I cut it out and left a little tail in the middle to loop around the paper clip. Then, I folded the tail behind the colored image and adhere the second image (stamped side up) to the back. 

You can get a better idea of how it's put together with this photo. (To make sure the two images line up, I added the adhesive on top of the uncolored image.)

I made some smaller page flags with scraps of coordinating paper, and used bigger images on the bigger paper clips. Here's a look at the set:

These are fall-themed, but you could use Christmas-themed stamps to make a stationery gift set for a gift, or general images for a birthday or thank you gift.

A cup of fall inspiration!

Hi, everybody! Happy Friday! Suzanne here with a new card that's inspired by a familiar coffee cup you may have seen around this fall. Here's an example of the design:

Several of my crafting friends have made cards lately with an extra paper cup like this one, but I always seem to put mine in the recycle bin before I think to save it for crafting!

So, I took out my Lawn Fawn stamp sets to see what stamps I could use to make a similar design, and this is what I came up with:

I've posted a list of all the stamp sets that I used on my blog, but I used the Love You A Latte set for the sentiment and coffee cup on the piece of kraft card stock. The bigger leaves are from the retired Harvest Season set, but there are leaves in other Lawn Fawn sets that you could use if you don't have that one.

Happy Harvest Card

Hi, everybody! Suzanne here, and I have a cute fall-themed card to share with you today! I am so happy that fall is just around the corner, because it's my favorite season of the year!

I used a bunch of the stamps from Lawn Fawn's "Happy Harvest" set to make my card:

I stamped the crows on black card stock and heat embossed white powder to create the outline instead of stamping the outline in black and coloring them in. I also colored and stamped the pumpkins from the set to bring the scene outside of the circle.

The patterned paper is from the Let's Polka Mon Amie petite paper pad.

Geek Chic Mini Notepad Covers

Hi, everybody! Suzanne here with you today, and I have some "geek chic" mini notepad covers to share with you!

I found 3-packs of mini notepads at an office supply store and I customized each one with a different cover that I made with some of my Lawn Fawn stamps and papers. Here's a closer look at one of the finished covers and another open cover with the notepad inside.

The finished project is slightly smaller than a standard A2 sized card (they measure 3.75" wide by 5.5" high when folded). For this size notepad, I made the cover out of a a strip of card stock measuring 3.75" wide by 11" long.

I used stamps from the Clear To See set and paper from the Let's Polka Mon Amie petite paper pack to make this notepad cover:

I made the other two covers with stamps from Science of Love. The papers are from the Sweater Weather and Beachside petite paper packs.

I hope you enjoyed my project and are inspired to make some of your own mini notepad covers! I like to keep mini notepads on hand, and make these as gifts. (To complete the gift, I include a cute pen or mechanical pencil with the notepad.)

It's Friday! Treat Yourself!

Hi, everybody! Suzanne here with a sweet card to share with you today! 

We love to treat ourselves to ice cream at a wonderful place near our house that also sells mini "pup cups" of ice cream for dogs. So, we bought one and brought it home for our dachshund, who LOVED it. I know that if given a chance, he would totally be like the dog on my card! 

I colored the dachshund from "Critters at the Dog Park" to match our dog, and stamped the scene so that he's diving into a big ice cream sundae (one of the images from "Here's the Scoop").

I cut four one-inch strips of paper from the Let's Polka Mon Amie petite paper pack to make a custom patterned paper design for the background. The sentiment is from the new "Treat Yourself" stamp set.

Goodie Bag Gift Envelope

Hi, everybody! Suzanne from the Facebook Inspiration Team here today to share a project I made with Lawn Fawn's Goodie Bag Lawn Cuts die. 

I first made this in March for the monthly FIT blog hop. Today's version is graduation-themed, but you can use different stamps to adapt the project for a different occasion. 

To make this project, you'll need the Goodie Bag Lawn Cuts die, smooth card stock (or patterned paper), a paper trimmer or scissors, adhesive. If you're stamping a design on the outside of the pocket, you'll also need ink and whatever you'd use to color the images. I chose Hats Off To You and a sentiment from So Much To Say for this tutorial.

You'll cut two panels with the die, just like if you were making a goodie bag. The trick to make the envelope is how you cut and assemble the pieces.

I recommend that you stamp and color the front and back panels after you trim your pieces, because you'll have a better surface to stamp and color.

As you can see in the picture above, you'll use the two bigger pieces for the front and back of the envelope. Instead of folding the smaller part for the sides and bottom, it's trimmed and re-attached to make enough space for a gift card. 

The black dotted lines mark where you cut the pieces, and the red lines show where you'll fold the smaller pieces before putting the envelope together. 

Here's what the pieces look like after they've been cut and before they're assembled. Even though it's hard to see on white card stock, you're folding along the score lines that are already there. I added red lines on the photo below so you have a better idea of where to fold each piece.

When I stuck the tabs on the panel, I lined up the edges of each folded tab with the panel so everything lined up easily. It's easier to attach the smaller bottom tab before attaching the side tabs. 

Here's what the inside looks like after the folded tabs are attached. The last step is lining up the top panel and attaching it to the bottom.

Here's another view of the finished envelope! It's small and thin enough to fit inside of a larger card, to give on its own, or it can be used as a tag to enclose a note with a larger gift.

Cards with alternate dimension!

Hi, everybody! Suzanne here from the Facebook Inspiration Team to share a couple of cards that I made recently. I challenged myself to come up with alternate ideas for adding dimension without using foam tape or a lot of layers.

My first card uses Lawn Fawn's Bugs and Kisses. I made some custom paper by stamping the bugs in brown ink on kraft card stock, then added some shadows to each bug. I like the effect because it looks like the bugs are popping up off of the background, when they really aren't!

To make the worm in a jar, I stamped the jar, worm and branch on a transparency with permanent ink. I stamped another worm and jar lid on white card stock, then colored them both in. Both pieces are attached to the back of the transparency.

My second card features a scene that I created with the Love You S'More set. It took a while to color everything, but I'm so happy with the final result! 

I planned the background by first stamping the flames and the bear. I masked the flames and the bear and drew in light pencil lines where I wanted to stamp the background line of trees and color in the ground where the bear is sitting.

After coloring the moon and sky, I heat embossed some stars and used a blender pen to push the color around the stars so they each have a glow.

Fresh takes on some Lawn Fawn favorites!

Hi, Suzanne from the Facebook Inspiration Team (FIT) here to share some cards that will make you take a fresh look at your Lawn Fawn stamps!

For the January FIT blog hop, I posted this card. I made the waves with the big pattern stamp from Woodgrain Backdrops. Since I was so happy with this card, I was inspired to take another look at my Lawn Fawn stamps to see what new combos I could create!

This card uses the double popsicle from Here's the Scoop. Since the face on the popsicle is in the middle of the image, I cut it in half to make two smaller popsicles for a quick love-themed card.

Here's another sweet treat: I used the outline ice cream stamp from Here's the Scoop to make a popcorn-themed hello card!

So how did I make the popcorn box? I stamped the chopstick from Let's Roll five times, and colored each chopstick red. I cut the box from the card stock, adhered it to the card and added a little shading with one of my markers. (The faces on the kernels are from Milk And Cookies and Love You A Latte.)

Clean and Simple Valentines

Hi, Lawnscapers! It's Suzanne from the Facebook Inspiration Team and I'm sharing some clean and simple-style Valentine's Day cards today! 

I started with this full-sized card that I made with Lawn Fawn's Milk and Cookies stamp set:

This inspired me to create mini valentine cards in the same style:

After making the first one with the Whale You Be Mine set, I made a few more with the My Silly Valentine stamp set and some Let's Polka paper:

After coloring the images, I finished each card by flipping it over and stamping the sentiment on the back. All that's left is to write in the names and to give the card to someone special!

(Each mini card measures 3 inches by 4 inches, compared to the larger card, which measures 4.25 inches by 5.5 inches.) The mini cards are also a great size for pocket-style scrapbooking!
