Using Small Stamps to Create a Focal Point featuring Blue Skies and Joy to the Woods

Christmas Cards by Jess Gerstner using Lawn Fawn Joy to the Woods and Blue Skies

Hello crafty friends! It's Jess and today I have a card set featuring Lawn Fawn's Peace Joy Love papers, Blue Skies stamps and Joy to the Woods stamps and dies. Since the current challenge is all about focusing on the sentiment I decided to use the arrows from Blue Skies to draw attention to my sentiment. For more on how I achieved this look check out my video.

As discussed in the video I used Hero Arts Ombre Inks to get the gradation in color with the arrows. There are some background sets out there that use arrows in a similar way but isn't it nice to be able to use what you have and customize? Of course you could use any sentiment and papers but I wanted to make some Christmas cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.

I hope you enjoyed my cards and video! Don't forget to participate in the latest challenge to use sentiments!

Fresh takes on some Lawn Fawn favorites!

Hi, Suzanne from the Facebook Inspiration Team (FIT) here to share some cards that will make you take a fresh look at your Lawn Fawn stamps!

For the January FIT blog hop, I posted this card. I made the waves with the big pattern stamp from Woodgrain Backdrops. Since I was so happy with this card, I was inspired to take another look at my Lawn Fawn stamps to see what new combos I could create!

This card uses the double popsicle from Here's the Scoop. Since the face on the popsicle is in the middle of the image, I cut it in half to make two smaller popsicles for a quick love-themed card.

Here's another sweet treat: I used the outline ice cream stamp from Here's the Scoop to make a popcorn-themed hello card!

So how did I make the popcorn box? I stamped the chopstick from Let's Roll five times, and colored each chopstick red. I cut the box from the card stock, adhered it to the card and added a little shading with one of my markers. (The faces on the kernels are from Milk And Cookies and Love You A Latte.)

I hope that the cards I've shared with you today inspire you to take a fresh look at your favorite Lawn Fawn sets and create something new! (FIT member Isha had a sweet post yesterday with her own "out of the box" ideas...make sure you check it out!)

Don't forget, you still have time to play along with our Dots and Stripes challenge, sponsored by Ellen Hutson!

Falling (Die cut) Hearts!

Hi everyone! It's Marina :) So sorry, I know that I was supposed to post on Thursday but I had some delays for my flight and I got home late. I'm here now to share with you a card using some heart dies.

I'm taking various copic markers in different shades of pink and red. You can use any colour combinations or other types of medium, watercolour or even ink pads. I took the string of hearts die from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card Die. I made sure to colour the cardstock first because it's much fasted to colour a big space then tiny hearts but it's your choice :)

When that's done, I stamped out the jar from Lawn Fawn Bugs & Kisses stamp set from the top of the paper as though it looks like it's pouring out hearts. I decided to use the same concept for my sentiment. I took the letters from Lawn Fawn Milo's ABC and position them in a way that they also looks like they are falling out of the jar.

Tip : Position your letters first then use a large stamp press to pick up all the letters so that you stamp them all at once and with this you can even do multiple cards quickly.

Now I arrange the hearts until I like it and start to glue them down using Tombow liquid glue.

Hope you like it!

Creating Your Own Patterned Paper

Hi everyone! Thanks for coming by to Lawnscaping Challenge blog. It's me, Marina, here again to share with you my last individual post of the year. But there will be a few more Lawnscaping Challenges for the year so catch me and my teammate over at the Lawnscaping Facebook Page.

I'm featuring the Love You a Latte stamp set, the stitched rectangle die and stitched journaling card die by Lawn Fawn. I will show you how to make your own patterned paper.

You can always stamp your choice of images individually but to save time, you can always arrange the images you'd like to use and stick it to your stamping block like I did, in the photo below.

As you can see, we those four images pre-mounted on my block, I can just go on and stamp them repeatedly around the front of my card. I love to stamp some of the parts off the page so that it will look like it's continuous and I've just cut down from a bigger piece of patterned paper.

Don't worry about those empty space because you can take those images individually and fill up the empty space or, you can take those tiny images in the stamp set to fill up the space.

This is my finished card :)

Hope you've enjoyed my card today and give this technique a try. And don't forget to subscribe to the Lawnscaping blog and Facebook page. And also, to stop by my blog for more ideas!

Non-Christmas Card using a Christmas Stamp Set

Hey Lawnscapers from all over the world! Marina from the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team here. Today, I would like to share with you how you can make a non-Christmas card using a Christmas intended stamp set.

I'm using the Snow Day stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I took that line of tiny trees and stamp it repeatedly on a grey cardstock using Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Soft Granite to make it sort of tone-on-tone. This way, I am creating my own pattern paper. You can do this with literally any images you have, even sentiments.

I, then, took the sentiment from the Good Fortune stamp set by Lawn Fawn and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder and went over the entire piece with Distress Ink in Barn Door.

I cut the strip to the small size and scored both sides of the piece twice, like in the picture below, to make a dimensional banner.

This is how it looks like when I used the score lines and fold them.

Using the Stitched Journalling Card Die, I die cut the same grey cardstock and mounted it on dimensional stickers. The bunnies are from the same Snow Day stamp set.

So, there you go :) I hope you have enjoyed this mini tutorial and try to stretch your christmas stamp set to make a non-Christmas card.

Facebook Inspiration Team DT CALL RESULTS

Hi there everyone! Laurel here! First of all, I want to thank everyone who applied to the FIT DT call! We had a lot of of gorgeous and inspirational blogs to look thru, which made our decision even harder..... Secondly, I want to personally apologize for taking so long to write this post. I didn't plan the call well because when the call ended, I was leaving for a vacation..... Sorry about that. I know how sitting around waiting can stink.

Again, this was a tough decision. I really don't like DT calls because I know there will be people leaving the call disappointed and disheartened and I am sorry about that. Everyone who applied is awesome and I wish I could offer up a spot to everyone... The decisions were solely based on the current needs of the team (IE.  a specific style per say that we don't currently have, etc)...

We've chosen 3 talented designers to join the FIT team, and a few others will receive an email from me about guest designing... If you don't receive an email from me and are interested in guest designing, please email me at laurelbeard at me dot com with subject: Guest Designer.

The 3 designers we would like to welcome to the FIT DT are:

Again, a big thanks to all of you for your participation and support!

Home Sweet Home

Hello Everyone!! Isha here from the facebook inspiration team, sharing my very first card on the blog today :) As you know the theme of our ongoing Lawnscaping challenge is "Distress Mania" and I love that. There are so many ways you can add the distress look to your card. I first thought about distress inks but then thought of trying my new pan pastel. I distressed the edges of my card background!
I created my background using various small images from the "Summertime Charm" stamp set and pan pastel. For the center panel, I used "Home Sweet Home and Into the Woods" stamp sets.

Hope you got inspired and would play along too. It sure was fun :) Thanks for dropping by!!

a happy little scene

Hello!
Samantha M here on this happy Saturday morning!
What is everyone up to today? Anyone getting crafty this weekend? Well save some of that mojo for the new challenge coming your way on Monday! It's one of my favorite things! :)

In the meantime, I have a card to share, to perk up your creative senses! :) (well, I hope! ha!)

I used three different lawn fawn sets for this card! The frame is from #awesome and the starry background was created with distress inks, white embossing powder and starry backdrops

Then I colored in the cute as can be camper from happy trails and popped it up, along with the car along the bottom of the frame! I think this card is clean and simple fun!

Wouldn't this be a perfect card to give someone on a road trip? Lol!! So that's my card - I have been so inspired by the inspiration week posts this week on the Lawn Fawn blog, that I just had to get some of my new sets inky!

Enjoy!

Introducing... The Facebook Inspiration Design Team

Hi everyone. Laurel here! As I mentioned in yesterday's post announcing our newest design team members, you guys all made it incredibly hard! So us Lawncaping gals put our heads together and decided to extend the Lawnscaping family! How you ask? By creating the Facebook Inspiration Design Team!!!!

These lovely ladies will be inspiring you with more Lawnscaping love over on our Facebook page every week with loads of projects! In addition, each one of these wonderfully talented ladies will be featured on the blog each month! So that is loads and loads of more inspiration to be found here AND on Facebook! If you don't follow us, please do! If you don't have Facebook, please join just to follow us! (He he, ok.... You don't have to do that).....

So, let me introduce you to our new Facebook Inspiration Design Team and a little bit about them in their own words..... Here we go...........

I am a wife to my high school sweetheart, and am a stay-at-home mom to our four rambunctious little kids.  I've been paper-crafting for about 15 years and love it to bits.  I love Jesus, cookies and Harry Potter, and living room dance parties with my kids.

Aloha from sunny Hawai! My name is Lizzy Criman and I live on the beautiful island of Oahu with my husband, dog, and two cats.   I’m a nurse practitioner by day (and evening, and sometimes night too), and, when I’m not out exploring my surrounds, you’ll find me stamping away.  My mom got me addicted in the summer of 2012 while my husband was away with the Army—and I was never quite able to kick the habit when he got back.  I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team, and hope you will follow along with my adventures at thishausofcards.blogspot.com

Hello! My name is Tracy and I am currently going to college for Graphic Design and working part-time at a local scrapbooking store.  I started scrapbooking when I was in high school and card-making about 3 years ago.  When I’m not crafting, I enjoy spending time with my family, rollerblading, playing tennis, and shopping.

Hi, my name is Samantha! I have always had a love for crafting, fine art, and design. When creating projects, I really love making scenes that tell a story by coloring stamped images and using fun embellishments and paper.

Hi! My name is Kari Webster and I live in Southern Missouri but I am originally from Central Arkansas.  I am happily married to my husband Chris for 6 years, and we are "mom and dad" to our two cats, Katie and Daisy :) By day, I work at our local hospital where I am the "Release of Information/Legal Correspondent" which basically means I am the one that patients, attorney's, insurance companies etc. come to me when they need medical records on a patient.   I've been crafting since August of 2009. It all started when I went to my first Stampin' Up workshop, and that is all it took!  Before too long, I took over my husband's computer room and turned into my craft room!!  (He didn't mind *grin*)  I absolutely love this hobby of paper crafting.  It is wonderful stress reliever for me!   I am super excited to have this opportunity to be on the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team!!  It is an honor to be among this group of ladies and their talent! I have loved Lawnscaping for a long time, and since I have been a participant, I always tried entering into a challenge, so to be a designer for them is beyond awesome for me!!  I hope to inspire you with my creations!!  You can come visit me at my blog at www.kwcarddesign.com

I am a SAHM with three sweet girls (3, 9 and 13). My fiancĂ© Mike is American and we live in Austria near Vienna. We do enjoy both worlds. Our furry baby is our cat Noah. Besides crafting I love to read, travel, enjoy coffee, MAC make-up, do a little gardening and just have fun!

Hi! I'm Lenny.  I'm an enthusiastic teacher. I teach French and my students are 12 - 14 years old. It isn't always easy, it can be stressy and I have a lot of school work,  but I always wanted to teach and I'm still loving it!! Whenever I have some free time, I wanna do something creative; it relaxes me!  Creative things that I love: scrapbooking, card making, floral arranging, baking, ...  I also love reading, traveling, gardening, going to the movies, ...  Really, really happy to be part of this Lawnscaping team!!  It's a crafty wish come true! :)  I love spending time with family and friends. Daydreaming about meeting some of my crafty friends in real life ...  I live in Belgium but my #1 favorite country is the USA!!
About 20 years ago, our school did an exchange with an American school and
I fell in love with that beautiful country ... I just love it over there! :)

Hi, I'm Samantha Mann and I couldn't be happier to be part of this team! My husband and I have lived all over the US, from Washington State to Florida, but we're currently in hot, humid, coastal South Carolina! We have two little boys (who I usually call my little menn)! I have always been in love with school supplies (ever since elementary school when i would save my nickels to buy cute pencils or erasers!) and that love just grew and developed into my crazy obsession (read: passion!) of paper crafting! I love making cards and even dabble with the occasional scrapbook layout! I tend to lean towards clean and simple design, but not always! I am all about learning new techniques from fellow crafters! I'm definitely quirky, and love to make playful, humorous sentiments for my cards (and layouts!)! I work full time for an advertising company and spend every other moment I can paper crafting, reading and enjoying the little moments in everyday family life.

Heading up this amazing extension to the family is DT Member/Social Media Coordinator Jenn Shurkus.

Woo hoo! How exciting is this?!? These wonderful ladies will begin to inspire us in July! So be sure to follow us on Facebook and check back here for their dedicated posts to the blog!!!!!

Oh, and how about a shout out to Jenn for redesigning the blog?!?  It looks incredible. Do I have an amazing team put together or what! :)
