A pair of love-ly cards!

Hi, everybody! Suzanne here, and I was inspired by the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday on Sunday to make these two love-themed cards!

My first card features a scene that I put together with Lawn Fawn's retired "Good Fortune" stamp set. I used paper from the "Let's Polka in the Dark" petite paper pad to make a simple background for my card front.

My second card features a 3-D accent that I made with the "Sweet Smiles" stamp set. I used permanent solvent ink to stamp on a transparent sheet and layered some mini hearts that I punched from a few scraps of Lawn Fawn paper

I used foam tape between the layers to give the bubble gum machine some dimension. It's not a shaker element because all of the hearts are adhered to either the transparent sheet or the bottom layer.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We'll have a new challenge on Monday, so make sure you join us!

Non-Christmas Card using a Christmas Stamp Set

Hey Lawnscapers from all over the world! Marina from the Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Team here. Today, I would like to share with you how you can make a non-Christmas card using a Christmas intended stamp set.

I'm using the Snow Day stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I took that line of tiny trees and stamp it repeatedly on a grey cardstock using Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Soft Granite to make it sort of tone-on-tone. This way, I am creating my own pattern paper. You can do this with literally any images you have, even sentiments.

I, then, took the sentiment from the Good Fortune stamp set by Lawn Fawn and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder and went over the entire piece with Distress Ink in Barn Door.

I cut the strip to the small size and scored both sides of the piece twice, like in the picture below, to make a dimensional banner.

This is how it looks like when I used the score lines and fold them.

Using the Stitched Journalling Card Die, I die cut the same grey cardstock and mounted it on dimensional stickers. The bunnies are from the same Snow Day stamp set.

So, there you go :) I hope you have enjoyed this mini tutorial and try to stretch your christmas stamp set to make a non-Christmas card.

Good Fortune

Hello all!!  Kari back with you from the Facebook Inspiration Team to share with you another project.  I thought I would continue on with the theme of the current challenge - Sentiments - and showcase what I believe to be a great set for this challenge - Good Fortune!

This is a pretty simple card, really - but it really is a fun one to showcase those sentiments!!  Who doesn't like fortune cookies!!  Whether some of them make sense or not - it is a "staple" after you've finished that Chinese Buffet.  Man - I am hungry just talking about it!! HA!

And what is a fortune cookie without shimmer??!! :)

Like a lot of card makers these days - it seems we continue to grab that Wink of Stella pen to finish off our projects!!  I hope you are able to find the time if you haven't already to join us here at Lawnscaping for our current challenge!!  Come showcase your favorite sentiment!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
