From Start to Finish!

Hi! Chrissie here and I wanted to share a card I made, along with some pictures, so you can see my process! This is my little card from start to finish!

I knew I wanted the patterned paper from Let's Polka (all links listed below) to be on an angle, so I played around with it on my card base, then adhered it and trimmed it with my scissors.

Then, to break up the white base and the dots, I heat embossed a sentiment (On the Mend) on a plain strip of black cardstock and placed that onto the card, trimming just like the previous time.

After that, I stamped the tag frame (Birthday Tags) and die cut it out (Tag You're It Lawn Cut).  I stamped and colored in the turtle, then added some Distress ink and a few flicks of Spray Mist.

Finally, I spritzed the top portion of the card in black mist and adhered the tag to the card along with some wood veneers.

Using Die Cuts

Hi!
Chrissie here and I wanted to share a fun way to use die cuts on your projects.  I the Cole's ABC's Lawn Cuts with Milo's ABCs stamps (all links are listed below).

First, I stamped everything (Critters at the Dog Park) and laid out the dies.  I adhered them with Washi Tape so they didn't move while I was die cutting them.

After running them through my Cuttlebug, I estimated where the die cuts would be and stamped the Paw Prints in different colors.

Then, I colored everything in and added two different spray mists to give some definition to the card.  I also inked up the edges and around the "DOG" to make it pop out.  I also die cut the little banner from Blue Skies to add in the corner.

Here is the finished piece:

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to play along in our current challenge, Minis!

Embossing Paste and Embossing Powder!

Hi! Chrissie here today - Happy Monday!!!
I wanted to share how I made a card using Q-Tips to ink up stamps AND how I added embossing powder to embossing paste!

I used the new Penelope's Blossoms and coordinating die cuts.

I used a Q-Tip to ink of the stamp so I could have a variation of colors.  I used the light color for the outside and then went in with a darker color for the center of the flower.  I love this effect!

Then I grabbed a stencil and used my palette knife to added some embossing paste to it.  Simon Says Stamp has a TON of different pastes.  They are seriously fabulous.

Before it was fully dry (I waited about 5 minutes), I dropped some embossing powder onto it and used my heat gun to heat it all up.

It gives a fun effect, especially if you add some ink and do an emboss resist technique (like I did below)!

This technique really adds great texture and makes the card super interesting! I hope you'll give it a try!
