spotted & hearted {for the birds edition}

hi friends!

Elena here, with a few projects that are "for the birds" - hee hee.

I'm gonna make this post short and sweet, since my head is swimming and I'm borderline delirious, and I can't be held responsible for proper grammar at this point ;)

Hugs - a mini card made with stamps from Lawn Fawn

Annie Rose paired my favorite colors, and highlighted her focal letters with a pair of adorably-colored birds.

Grisel added a bit of sparkle to her heavenly scene:

Jayzee created this fun number:

lovekarte01

...and seriously - what's not to love about a chevron-filled-speech bubble?

The last card is probably my favorite, mostly because we're deep into all things princess in our home...

Cinderella

Pia, you are a genius.  It's Christmas-y, but very Cinderella, all at the same time...

spotted & hearted: winter owl edition

Hi lawnscapers!

Elena here, ready to love on a few projects.  When I'm stumped for inspiration, my favorite thing to do is see how other (and obviously more brilliant crafters) play with the images I have in mind to use... it's usually the perfect jumping off point to get my creative juices flowing!

Here are a few recent faves I've spotted from the fawnie flickr groups using "winter owl":

Annika's dark owls (so beautifully colored), with their different patterned scarves, resting on a strip of (what looks like) snowy patterned paper, and all against a stark white backdrop, is utter perfection.  Slow claps and huge grins for this one.

Crafty Dee colored her owl a rich, warm brown, and added fall touches for a different look.  I love his belly color - what a fun & unexpected touch!

Joyce opted not to color the owl at all, but cut him out of solid cardstock, and paper pieced the rest of the card in super fun patterns.  I a-d-o-r-e how different this looks and feels compared to the colored owls.  That's how you stretch your stamps, people!

And lastly, Ruth did some fancy mirror stamping, and added fluffy earmuffs to her owls. I don't even have words to write... I'm too busy crushing on this card.

I've been inspired, and I hope you have too! And ladies, here's a fun little badge for your blogs:

Please keep on adding your pictures to the lawnscaping flickr gallery - it could be your card that gets spotted & hearted next time!

In the words of my Dora-loving-toddler: adios, amigos!

spotted & hearted {thank you edition}

Hi lawnscapers!

Elena here, with more fawnie-style-shout-outs to give.  I know Laurel already thanked everyone for a great hop, but I received so many nice emails while I was organizing things behind the scenes, and I wanted to say thanks in my own way...

Here's a little collection of thank you cards, to inspire and brighten your day:

thank you

I love this set of thank you cards by Rachel Quinto.  The mix of monochrome patterns is fantastic, and I love the whimsy of the hand-drawn frame.  The little heart at the end of the sentiment is the perfect touch.

Lawn Fawn So Thankful

Jean M's "so thankful" card is adorable!  The little mouse scurrying near the pumpkins makes me think of Cinderella ;)  The design and her coloring make for a wonderful card!

CUTE, right?  right?  I love everything about how clean and adorable this card is... way to go, Vera.

The Dewey Decimal papers never looked so good!  I love the way Angel arranged her hexagons, leaving plenty of white space on the card, for a trendy (and less "quilty") look.

So, that's all for me to today - thank you!

And to thank these talented ladies, here is a badge you can proudly display on your blogs:

Please keep adding your pictures to the lawnscaping flickr group - I love going through and seeing all of the amazing projects you all are creating!

Spotted & hearted

Hi lawnscapers!

Elena here, with another edition of the lawnscaping patrol... and since Canadian thanksgiving is just around the corner (on October 8th), I thought I would pull some thanksgiving inspiration, fawnie-style, of course!

I love the simplicity of Elise's card!  There's nothing better than a kraft card-base, especially to convey the cozy-ness of the fall season.... and the color on the pumpkins really pops off the page (er, card!)

I'm a complete sucker for a staged photo - I absolutely adore Nicole's thanksgiving placecards... and the fact that she snapped the picture of the card in action?  awesome.  And also, where can I get that table-cloth??

It just wouldn't be thanksgiving without that hilarious turkey!  Thank you so much, Nichol, for this bright and colorful card!  Adding a googly eye to the turkey is the icing on the cake... *grins*

One last one, you say?  You don't have to twist my arm:

Another beauty from Nichol's blog - and this post, although almost 2 years old, has some great thanksgiving projects and tutorials.  Give it a peek!

Here's a badge for you ladies who have been "spotted & hearted" by the lawnscaping patrol:

Wear it well!

Spotted and hearted!

Hi lawnscapers!  Elena here, ready to share a few of my recent faves from the lawnscaping flickr group:

by Lalo
Isn't this just the cutest?  What's not to love?  The sunburst embossing, the tone-on-tone stamped pattern, and the amazingly cute chicken.  I adore it all.

by Samantha Mann
We all know that washi tape is super trendy, but Samantha made them look even more fresh by placing them at different angles.  I love the mix of colors and patterns in her card (especially the speech bubble's ledger paper - fantastic!)

by Audrey Tokach
Seriously, could this scene be any cuter?  I love the little family of gingerbread men, and the way the sentiment is nestled low into the ground, and right above the colorful gumdrops, which draw your eye directly to it.  And Audrey's coloring is always done right!

by Jean Manis
The way the fox is stamped onto yellow cardstock and left un-colored is something I would have never thought to do - I love how this turned out!  Thanks for the inspiration, Jean!

For you ladies, here's a little badge for your blogs, to let people know you've been spotted by the lawnscaping patrol:
