Halloween Punny Card

It's almost my favorite time of year...HALLOWEEN!!!! I enjoy this holiday sooooo much. It's so much fun, it's in my favorite season, my favorite scents and flavors are surrounding me. Ahhhhh. So I wanted to make a funny card to send to someone to make them laugh. I must admit, I was laughing the entire time I made this. Seriously, it doesn't take much to amuse me! ;)

Happy Haunting Card

Good morning, Roxanne here today with a cute Halloween-themed card for you! I had a lot of fun creating this cute little card, so sit down and take a scroll with me through the process. I've listed all the supplies I've used at the end of this post.

My first step was to create my card base. I used a plain black cardstock that I cut, scored and folded to 4.25x5.5. I grabbed a piece of my patterned paper that I was going to adhere to the front of my card and diecut out a larger circle. I traced that diecut onto the card base so I knew where I was going to need to stamp/create my sky.

I used several star stamps from the Booyah and Party Animal sets with some Delicata in Golden Glitz and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I then took a sponge and my Dandelion ink pad and swirled on the hazy sky on a portion of the circle.

My next step is to stamp and create my little critters that I wanted as part of my Halloween scene. I was quite giddy when I realized that the hat and Frankenstein hair/stitches fit PERFECTLY onto the animals from the Party Animals set. I just wanted to use something cute, other than a ghost! 

I stamped these onto some quality coloring cardstock with Tuxedo Black (Memento). I masked the top hat and hair before stamping the bear onto the cardstock. I simply stamped the hat and hair image onto a sticky note, fussy cut that out carefully, and stuck that down over my stamped images of the hat and hair. This allows you to stamp over that with the bear stamp so that once the mask is lifted, it looks like it was all one image! 

Next, I colored and cut out my bears. Now as you can see, even though I'm really careful about trimming around the edges, you always end up with a very slight white edge. What I do is take a black marker (I used my Spectrum Noir True Black) and lightly go around the edge of the image so that it looks like you cut it perfectly and have clean black edges. Just a little tip I do. You'll see in the image above that I touched up the brown bear.

Thanksgiving Place Cards

Good morning, Roxanne here today with a cute project for your Thanksgiving table.

I usually have something Thanksgiving themed gracing our kitchen table every year, and I wanted to make something to go with that for Thanksgiving morning breakfast. Since we go see family every year for dinner, I wanted to have something cute for our table ready to put out. It's simple, cute and totally easy to do.

I also vowed to work ahead this holiday season, and this is a quick project you can do in no time at all to be prepared! If you're hosting dinner for this holiday, you can definitely make more of these to put at each place setting. It will make your guests feel special that you went a little extra special for those fun holiday touches.

When I saw this set, I knew I had to have it. The little details it came with for each holiday were so perfect!! I just love it. This is the Lawn Fawn Holiday Party Animal set. Who doesn't want to dress up a little raccoon?? 

I started out actually with a pre-scored card (it was a bulk package I bought at my local craft store that has pre-scored cards and envelopes) that I simple folded on the score and cut in half. I got 2 place cards out of the card. Just a little tip if you buy any bulk packages or boxes of cards like this, you can make them into place cards, gift tags, anything you want!

After I scored it, I inked up the little wishbone that comes with this set with Versamark ink and stamped a random pattern on each one. I do have a set of 4 of them that you'll see in just a bit; they're all the same and you can certainly make each one different if you'd like! 

I then diecut four of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Labels in a maize colored cardstock from my stash. The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Happy Feast set. I actually stamped them each separately onto the diecut label since I couldn't place the sentiment stamps close enough together on the block to fit. They are stamped in Versafine in Onyx Black just because it's a really rich black color and I wanted it to pop!

Now onto the raccoon. I stamped him four times, as well as the pie (which I had to turn into a pumpkin pie; what else is better on Thanksgiving?!) and the pilgrim hat, onto some quality coloring cardstock and colored each of them in with my Spectrum Noir Markers. If you're interested in the colors I used, they were OR1, OR2, TN2, TN5, TN7, DR7, EB2, EB3, EB5, CG1, CG3, CG5, and the blender. After I colored them in, I fussy cut them out. You can definitely purchase the coordinating dies for the set which would make things much quicker for you!

After I cut them all out, I applied foam adhesive to everything and assembled the raccoon and stuck him onto the card base. Tip here - I worked a little backwards. I glued down the sentiment label first and then positioned my raccoon. 

Here are all four place cards with a couple different angles so you can see all the details!

There you have it. My little Thanksgiving place cards are done. I keep them generic (you can put your family members' names on there if you'd like) so if I wanted to, I could use them year after year, or I could put one up with the decorations another year. You could also reuse them the next year and cut off at the fold to create a really easy card for friends or family! Just adhere your cut place card panel to a piece of colored cardstock and there you go!

End of the Year Teacher Gifts

Hi everyone! Roxanne here today with end of the year teacher gifts that I came up with for both my boys. They each have 2 teachers, so I had to make this project affordable, cute and simple!

My husband always laughs at me, but I reuse all sorts of containers for gift giving. I think it's quite resourceful myself, but I do amass quite the collection of containers and jars and boxes...you get the idea here! For this project, I chose to reuse strawberry containers. Just the simple clear plastic ones you get at the grocery store. I washed them all out, let them air dry and began thinking of clever gifts to put inside.

I wanted to do a popcorn/candy and movie themes for these. I thought it was different and totally fun. Here is what I made up:

 

Inside the containers:
- About 1-1/2 cups of popcorn kernels
- Homemade popcorn seasoning inside a little jar (found those at the $1 spot at Target)
- Sixlets candies (also found in the $1 spot at Target; I bought 2 bags to split between all 4 gifts)
- 2 brown kraft paper bags (found on clearance at Micheal's for 19¢ each)
- AMC Theaters gift card

For the container, I simply measured the rounded indentation on the top and bottom of the containers to cover with fun papers. This hides the stickers I didn't want to sit and remove! What I did was make one for the outside and one for the inside of the container for both the top and bottom. I chose a double sided patterned paper and used one pattern on the outside and one on the inside. I simply rounded the corners and glued to the containers. Such a fun and simple way to repurpose a fruit container! Think of all the containers you could use - fruit, donut, muffin, egg cartons, jars, and so much more. The possibilities really are endless. It makes a fun presentation for gifts like gift cards that are more exciting to get when they're wrapped creatively. At least I think so.

For the tags, I chose coordinating papers to match the patterned papers I used to dress up the plastic containers. I did two different patterned papers and matching tags for each of my kids. I made 2 of each, as I had mentioned above, for the boys. I simply had them sign their names on the opposite side of the tags.

The labels for the little jars of seasoning were also from the $1 spot at Target. I stamped "popcorn salt" onto the labels using Milo's ABCs. That font is so much fun!

I think this was one of my favorite teacher gifts I've created. I can't wait for the teachers to get them!!

So, save those containers and get crafty with them for gift giving this summer. AND if you have space to save them until then, they would make amazing holiday gift containers for gift giving - I can just picture a little loaf of bread inside one of these, or a line of yummy homemade cookies.

I'm So Thankful for You!

Good morning! Roxanne here today to show you a colorful project that I created for a Mother's Day card. I'll be making a few more for those special women in my life.

I love using bright colored images with black. It really makes your bright images pop off the page or card.

I chose a simple white base for my card. I always use a folded 4.25x5.5 card. It fits perfectly into an A2 envelope. You can get fun colored envelopes if you'd like, too! Adds a fun touch to someone's mailbox :)

I used a 4x5.25 piece of shimmering cardstock (Crafter's Companion, Silver Starlight) and a dotted stencil (Heidi Swapp) with some embossing paste (Dreamweaver Stencils, Embossing Paste). This was my first time using it and I'm definitely using this more often! It was really quite easy and fun, just took a little time to dry. After it was dry, I rubbed on some Versamagic ink in Thatched Straw just in one section. I love the look of this in person!

For the focal point, I used the Lawn Fawn Tag You're It dies to cut out the tag and hole. For the tag, I used Memento Luxe in Wedding Dress with various images from the Lawn Fawn Flutter By. I just am loving the chalkboard look lately. The hole for the tag was cut out on the yellow striped paper from the Lawn Fawn 6x6 Let's Polka Petite Paper Pack. Little touches make an impact I think.

The butterfly, rose, and leaves were stamped onto white cardstock with Memento in Tuxedo Black. I then colored them in with my Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils. I used the paper stumps and blending solution to blend my coloring. I cut them out leaving a slight white border. Using foam adhesive, I glued them to the tag I created. I love the punch of color!! The cord at the top of the tag is a little piece of cord from Lawn Fawn's Lawn Trimmings, Pink Lemonade. It matched the pink in the rose I colored.

The sentiment blocks were stamped on white cardstock with Memento in Tuxedo Black and I simply cut around them in a rectangle shape. These are from the Lawn Fawn Happy Feast set.

I used foam adhesive to glue down the tag and sentiment blocks to the embossed piece. There you go!  A beautiful Mother's Day card. I hope you're inspired to create some beautiful, and simple, cards for those special women in your life for Mother's Day :)

Good morning, Roxanne here today! I created this cute little card today that I'd love to share with you.

Here is my project - a totally cute little card for that special someone!

For this card, I used a simple mossy colored card base. It's a linen paper, so it's already nice and textured! I then took a sheet of the green pattered paper from the 6x6 Snow Day Petite Paper Pack and cut it into strips. They're roughly 1" wide. I then glued them on an angle on the card base. I love when you can use a holiday paper on a non-holiday card! I thought it went perfectly with this card. 

For the image, I stamped the frame from the Say Cheese set with Memento, Tuxedo Black onto a white card stock. I then cut out the frame leaving a thing white border all the way around. I did this because I knew that I was going to be cutting out the other images and leaving a white border as well. This way, it all goes together :) 

I used the paw print from the Critters at the Dog Park set and stamped them in Versamagic, Sugarcane. It's a pretty, soft taupe color. Very subtle. I simply stuck Post-It notes over the border of the frame to make sure the paw prints didn't go over that border. 

I used the grass image from the same set with Radiant Neon in Electric Green. I stamped several rows of this and layered them up so the grass looked fuller. Who doesn't love full, lush grass??

I could not resist the French bulldog from the Critters at the Dog Park set either!! I love him. I colored him in brown tones with my Spectrum Noir Markers. I cut him out, leaving the thin white border around the edges. I then took the bow tie image and stamped that onto a piece of the blue polka dot paper from the 6x6 Let's Polka Petite Paper Pack. His little nose was colored in using a black Spica pen, so it's just a touch sparkly in person. Reminiscent of a wet dog nose!

The card still needed something else, so I grabbed the large tree from the Critters in the Burbs. 

I glued that down with some adhesive, hanging it over the edge of the frame, and I just cut the bottom of the tree to stop at the bottom of the inner frame. For the bulldog, I popped him up with some foam adhesive. 

The sentiment, i ruff you, was stamped in Memento Luxe, Love Letters. It's the perfect color for love!
