How To Get Inspired...

Hi! Chrissie here today! I don't know about you, but sometimes I have a realllllyyyy hard time getting inspired to start a project.  Of course, there is always Pinterest, but sometimes when I go on there for ideas, it backfires and I spend an hour pinning instead of crafting! So, the last time I needed some inspiration, I decided to look around the house for ideas.

I found some inspiration right away, with our shower curtain (it came from Target)!

I knew that my hexagon dies would work really well, using this as my starting point.

I pulled out my dies and some paper and started on a color scheme.

I still wasn't really sure which direction to go in (sometimes I am just really stuck, LOL), so I started dies cutting a few different sizes and colors.

Then, I laid them down on cardstock and just moved them around until it felt right.  I didn't adhere until the very end.

I used a sentiment from A Birdie Told Me and stamped it in navy blue instead of black so it would keep with the same color theme.  I almost never stamp sentiments in anything but black, so I was living on the edge, hee hee hee!

So, the next time you are stuck, just look around at the non-crafty things and see where it takes you!!!

Stamps: Lawn Fawn,
Papers: American Crafts, Recollections
Ink: Memento
Dies: Spellbinders

  1. love the graphic, CAS design! I'm like you, hard to start sometimes and stamping a sentiment in anything but black sends me into some serious over-thinking! haha!
