Christmas shaker money wallet

Hello.

Its Kate here today with something a little different.

I have made a Christmas shaker money wallet as a gift for my great nephew.

He is almost four months old so wont really understand what Christmas is all about so I'm gifting cash.

Obviously I could put the money in a card but i thought this was just a bit more unique. 

To make a money wallet you will need a plastic page protector/project life page or a stamp storage pocket and a fuse tool.

You could make it using washi tape as an alternative but the seal may not be as good.

To start i stamped coloured and fussy cut and die cut the penguins from toboggan together and winter penguin stamp sets.

I have given some of them hats just by masking them. 

Once they were all done I realised that the wallet will be see through so i coloured the backs too.

Very important to remember how the inside will look too. 

I wanted the sentiment and name to not move although most of the elements on the front of the wallet will move.

So i used an extra piece of the plastic page cut down to size and stamped the winter scripty saying sentiment in black archival ink and let dry before sticking the name down.

Then i die cut my nephews name from Louis ABC.

The actual wallet is made from a plastic page protector and i cut it down to fit English £20 notes.

To start seal both sides, the bottom was already sealed so saved me a job :) 

Then i added the spare piece with the name and sentiment and i also adhered one penguin so that it doesn't move.

All the other penguins were added to the front and i sprinkled glitter and snowflakes behind the sentiment.

I then sealed with the fuse tool and everything moves perfectly.

This is the insides, so the wallet is opened up.

Then for the back I made two panels the black polka dot and blue patterned paper is where the money will go and i made a slot for it to slip in and out easily.

Then on the back is a panel with the message which you put in facing out.

To make it clear the wallet opens up and the money can be put inside the slot, I felt this was a more secure way to do it so that you have to physically open it and the money cant just fall out.

To make the slot you can insert some scrap card and carefully use a craft knife or you can use the fuse tool with a ruler.

You need to be very careful so as not to cut the other layer of plastic.

The pattern paper makes it look better when there is no money inside.

The is the front and back of the wallet.

Ive blurred the message.

When the panels are in and you have added your message seal the bottom with the fuse tool.

Now fold over and you have a finished shaker money wallet.

You can put under a book if it doesn't stay closed.

Thinking About You!

Good morning!  Jess here to share a super sparkly card!  My card fits with our current challenge, Thinking Of You!

I recently purchased Winter Penguin and thought he'd look fabulous skating along an icy winter scene!

To create my card I swiped distress inks in Wild Honey, Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Seedless Preserves across a piece of white cardstock.  Then I swiped Black Soot distress ink around the colors and carefully swiped the edge of the pad between and over the colors to create a northern lights effect.  I let it dry completely and then I covered the cardstock with versamark and poured holographic embossing glitter over the panel.  I tapped off the excess and heat embossed it to create that super glittery background!

Next I stamped my penguin in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored him with copics and fussy cut him!  I cut the snowy hill with white cardstock and heat-embossed the sentiment from Scripty Sayings with silver embossing powder.  I popped up my penguin with foam tape and adhered the hill to my glittery background.  I wanted it to look like my penguin had scraped the sentiment into the ice with his little skates! :)

2015 Desktop Calendar

Hi everyone! It's Yuki here with my first blog post on the Lawnscaping blog :). One of my favorite things about the end of the year is buying new calendars for the following year. This year instead of buying a calendar, I decided to make my own desktop calendar to give as a gift.

I reused an old CD calendar case I had from a previous year as my calendar stand. For the dates, I used a calendar stamp set I had purchased specifically with this project in mind. However, you could also use calendar stickers, printables or even write the dates by hand. I found the stamp to be the most versatile and convenient since you can stamp it in different colors and even heat emboss it. I decided to make each month unique and tried to  highlight key dates such as holidays and even my friend's birthday.

Since I used a TON of different products (too many to list), I listed the Lawn Fawn products used for each month under the photo captions.

Yay you made it to the end of the post! I know that was a lot of scrolling LOL, however I hope you enjoyed today's post. Although this project was a little more time consuming than most and did require some extra planning, it was super fun to make and I'm really happy with the end result. I hope my friend likes her handmade gift as much as I do!

Using non-Christmas set for a Christmas Card

Hi everyone! Thanks for coming by to Lawnscaping Challenge blog. It's me, Marina, here again to share with you a new card that I've made. Last month, I used a Christmas stamp set to make a non-Christmas card, but today, I'm doing the opposite. Kind of ;)

I've taken the Sweater Weather stamp set to make a little tree. I know that my choice of colours still looks like a Fall theme card but you can turn it into a christmas card by the magic of sentiments & embellishments.

For this card, I only use 3 ink colours, Green, Red and Orange. But if you look closely, there's 2 shades of green. I've used the second-generation stamping technique to make different dimensions to the tree. It's a great way to get more out of the ink pads you already have.

I've added the red and glittery bow to make the card look Christmas-y. The sentiments are from the Winter Penguin & Sweet Christmas.
