a monochromatic moment

hey there!! it's samantha m here today! did you know the current challenge is all about color! and not just any color - monochromatic color! so FUN!!!

i don't know why, but i was feeling grey! and after i checked out some you tube videos on coloring in greys, i took out my copics and got to work!!
*full disclosure here - this is only like the 2nd or 3rd time i've actually full on, colored images with my copics!! i am SO not an expert and it took a lot of trial and error! but i actually do really like how this card came out! :)

my aim was to create a scene that could have been any moment in time captured in a black and white photo! :)

i just LOVE that little dog from critters at the dog park - he's just so HAPPY! all of the stamped images were colored with my copics:
W1, W3, W5 and W7 for the absolute darkest shadows. :)

i used my punch to create the grass (some of which was popped up for extra dimension along with the bird and one of the clouds). and then sprinkled on some pearls to the sky! :) the bird was from home sweet home and the clouds are from bon voyage! :)

the letters were super fun to color too! i tried to make them look shiny in the middle, and then i added glossy accents and i just love how they look! lol! almost like thickers, right? LOVE those quinn's abc's

so that's it! i hope you like it and it gets your creative juices flowing so you can play along with this challenge! i can't wait to see what you make!
thanks!

  2. Love this!! Love it so much. I had fun with all my grey paper. Once you start thinking of black and white photography it's really nice to create an idea around. I especially love your letters.
