Using Small Stamps to Create a Focal Point featuring Blue Skies and Joy to the Woods

Christmas Cards by Jess Gerstner using Lawn Fawn Joy to the Woods and Blue Skies

Hello crafty friends! It's Jess and today I have a card set featuring Lawn Fawn's Peace Joy Love papers, Blue Skies stamps and Joy to the Woods stamps and dies. Since the current challenge is all about focusing on the sentiment I decided to use the arrows from Blue Skies to draw attention to my sentiment. For more on how I achieved this look check out my video.

As discussed in the video I used Hero Arts Ombre Inks to get the gradation in color with the arrows. There are some background sets out there that use arrows in a similar way but isn't it nice to be able to use what you have and customize? Of course you could use any sentiment and papers but I wanted to make some Christmas cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive.

I hope you enjoyed my cards and video! Don't forget to participate in the latest challenge to use sentiments!

Treat bags ...

Hi Lawnscaping friends!!!!

First Saturday of the month  ... So ...

... it's Lenny, from the Facebook Inspiration DT, here with you today!!

Last month, I shared the little pillow boxes that I made with the
We R Memory Keepers Pillow Punch board. In this post I would like to share
some treat bags, that I made with the Gift Bag Punch board,
also from We R Memory Keepers.
I totally looooove those punch boards!! They're really handy!!

(I made these treat bags for an order ... these are meant as
"thank you" gift for 3 ladies of a DayCare for kids.)

Here are some photos . . .

Using Distress Markers as Watercolors

Hi! Chrissie here today!
Have you used Distress Markers yet? I picked up some a few weeks ago and I wanted to show you how I use them as watercolors!

If you aren't so great at painting, this gives you a little more control.  I stamped the hot air balloon from the new Blue Skies onto watercolor paper and then I cut it out using the coordinating die cut (Lawn Cut).

I started by coloring the marker in the areas that would be the darker areas.  I used Worn Lipstick, Broken China and Mustard Seed.

Then I just took a brush that had water on it and pulled the ink down.

I went back in a few times with a little more of the marker and did the same with the basket, too.

Then I stamped a cloud using Distress Ink (Broken China), took a water brush and messily added water to give it a watercolored look.  Cool, huh?

Here is the finished card:

I think it gives a soft, sweet look, like watercolors do, but this was faster (and easier!).
