A Sweet Thank You!

Hi!
Chrissie here and today I wanted to just walk you through my process as I made a thank you card.

I created this card for my daughter's sitter and the reasoning behind the thank you is bittersweet (hence the ice cream image for the 'sweet' part.  See what I did there?!?! LOL!).  She has been our daycare provider since my daughter was about 10 months old.  My little kiddo just turned four and started Preschool.  So, as happy as I am that she is in school, I am so incredibly sad to be leaving this amazing woman that has cared for my child as her own while I was at work everyday.

I pulled out my supplies and kind of played around with the stamped images inside the die cuts.  Sometimes when I don't know where to start, I start laying out stamps and dies to see what works.  That gives me a good starting off point.

Once I decided on how I wanted to have the stamp sit inside the dies, I cut them out.  I used Lawn Fawn's Lawn Cuts Circle Stackables and Scalloped Circle Stackables.  And the stamp set is Here's the Scoop.

The next thing I did was gather some scraps and I cut them all the same width.  I have scraps everywhere.  And I mean EVERYWHERE.  They are in drawers, little boxes, on my desk, etc.  So, I love it when I can get rid of some of them use them.

I decided to turn the scraps into banners by using my square punch.  I just use the corner of the square punch and voila: banners!

I left them different lengths.  Who needs uniformity, right??? :)

I added a little spray mist to the base of the card....

Then I colored in the little ice cream cone and background using Spectrum Noir Markers.  And at the last minute, I re-cut the scallop in black card stock instead of a patterned paper.  Since I wanted to stamp the sentiment in black in, I figured that would pull the card together better and I wanted the image to pop a little bit, too!

And here is the finished piece:

Thanks for stopping by!
