Card Storage with the Cameo and Lawn Fawn

Good morning!  It's Jen McDermott from the Facebook Inspiration Team, here to show you how I'm starting to store my stash of cards.  I've got a ton of cards ready-made, from participating in challenges, and playing around with my stamps, and since I'm trying to organize my craft room, I want to get my cards out of the big bin, and organized by category. I've found a way cute, inexpensive way to do that, using my Silhouette Cameo, and super cute Lawn Fawn papers.

I found this cute magazine box cut file by Lori Whitlock in the Silhouette Store, which is sized perfectly for A2 cards.  I downloaded it and gathered 2 pieces of white cardstock (if you want to take on this project, the heavier weight the cardstock, the better), and 3-4 pieces of Lawn Fawn's Daphne's Closet 6x6 papers.  Then I loaded up my paper, and cut away.

Next, I adhered the Daphne's Closet papers to the box pieces.  (TIP: You want to do this before you assemble the box.  Otherwise, you'll be smooshing the box while you adhere the pretty papers)

Then, I assembled the box......

I decided that this box was going to be storing birthday cards, so I stamped some quick words from the Lawn Fawn/Studio Calico set, and adhered them onto the spine.

And stocked it up with cards, and.....

Voila!!  Super cute, easy card storage.  I'm going to make more of these for my different categories of cards, and I think it would even be awesome packaging for a gift set of homemade cards.  Imagine a set of teacher thank you cards all boxed up using Dewey Decimal and A Good Apple---CUTE!

  18. Love this idea. I made and gave over 50 cards EACH to my 2 daughters and 2 daughters-in-law this past Christmas. I told them I would be giving them more cards throughout the year. This little gift box will be perfect for packaging the cards. And they in turn can use the box to store cards in. It's a win-win! Thanks for creating this pretty little box :-)
